Graham loves his sessions at Acorns day services

Pepenbury relies on the generosity of people like you. There are so many rewarding ways in which you can get involved and support our work.

The current economic climate affects the vulnerable members of society the most. Government cutbacks mean that charities like Pepenbury are having to do more - for less. Fundraising is one of the most crucial ways you can help, from lending a hand in one of our many fundraising activities, to leaving a gift in your will.

It costs £16,438 each and every day to continue to deliver Pepenbury services.

Anti Bullying Campaign

Pepenbury is proud to share its first Anti-Bullying film which was created in the summer of 2017 on our Pembury site. The film consists of a number of interviews with people who have experienced bullying. Their stories in their own words.

We will be working with local schools to raise awareness amongst school children as we have identified public transport as a particular area of concern. We have people with learning disabilities who will not travel during the time school children are on the bus as they feel too intimidated.

Thank you to the team at BrightMedia for their help in creating this film. Special thanks also to The Friends of Pepenbury for funding this film. Without your contribution, we would not have been able to do this.

Remember, giving a little will help a lot.

Welcome to our new Ambassador Will Bayley

Will Bayley MBE, the men’s class 7 World number one Para table tennis player, has joined Pepenbury as our Ambassador.

He won the hearts of the nation during the Rio Paralympic Games in 2016 when he ‘completed the impossible’ and claimed Paralympics GB’s gold medal in the men’s class 7 table tennis final. He finished off the year by receiving an MBE in the New Years Honours list. Bayley, born with arthrogryposis, a rare congenital disorder that affects all four of his limbs, took up the sport when his grandmother bought him a table tennis table while he was battling childhood cancer.

Known for his passion and dedication, Will made the decision to partner with us after visiting in 2016.

“People with learning disabilities are no different to us. They want to go on first dates, laugh with friends in the pub and have jobs but without the right support they struggle to do this.

Pepenbury is really committed to doing everything they can to support them, which is why they have to fundraise. I know firsthand what having the right support can do and what you can achieve. That’s why I’m excited to get involved and support this charity. I was so impressed with them when I visited”, said Will.
