Working With Others
We at Pepenbury pride ourselves in our proven ability to work with other organisations to share expertise and experience to the benefit of both those who use our services and our staff.
Partnerships are often not easy to get off the ground but we find that if we persevere we find ways of learning from each other, working with our partners’ systems and understanding their culture then everybody gains.

Please see some of the examples below and click onto their websites if you want to learn more about them.
Kent County Council:
Pepenbury manages the Wychwood Respite in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, on behalf of Kent County Council.
With Kent County Council, Skillnet and Kent Supported Employment Pepenbury helps to lead on the Kent-wide Jobs Action Group, helping to find paid work for people with learning disabilities.
AXA PPP
This International Insurance and Health Care Company has sponsored past Pepenbury Golf Days and in 2008 we were chosen as their Charity of the Year. Link via AXA log

Woodlands Manor Golf Course
For the last four years Woodlands Manor has hosted our annual Golf Day for which we are very grateful.
Our residents are also invited to the Course for an annual Christmas lunch and entertainment.
Primrose Project
Adult and Social Services in Tunbridge Wells asked us to take over a gardening project in Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells, for people with learning disabilities. We did this in August 2007, appointed a trained teacher to lead the project and it has gone from strength to strength.

The Mayor of Tunbridge Wells
We believe that charities should work together when they can and we put this into practice at the Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night! Pepenbury has organised the Quiz for the past two years (2007 and 2008) and has been asked back next year.
Other charities may gain but by involving people with learning disabilities wherever possible – e.g. preparing and serving the food, helping on the night etc. – we are gaining as well.

Royal British Legion Industries
RBLI is there to help to find work for disabled people. They have many contacts in business and great expertise in understanding the complexities of the benefits system.
Our Training for Work initiative is designed to train people to help them to find work so it is a good partnership.

Fundraising Standards Board
Most charities need to raise funds to enhance the service they give and we are no exception. Fundraising has to be done professionally and ethically and we believe that being one of the earliest affiliates to FRSB is a reason for pride.
