Working With Others - West Kent College

Both West Kent College and Pepenbury are committed to helping to develop a well trained and committed workforce so in 2006 we got together and applied for some Learning & Skills Council funding to provide NVQ qualifications in Care and particularly for support workers working with people with learning disability.

Under the banner of ‘Progressions’ Pepenbury, West Kent College and Gateway Training are helping support workers from all over Kent and, of course, Pepenbury to get their NVQ3: NVQ4 and Registered Manager Awards. It has been a great partnership experience and one that we have every reason to think will go on beyond the date when the funding runs out.

‘Progressions’ has given us the opportunity to win our spurs in training and we hope to become an organisation well known for its training ability, both for support staff and people with disabilities.
