Pop in for a coffee at our Coffee Shop
The Pepenbury Coffee Shop is run as a training venue for those working towards City & Guilds qualifications as a first step towards employment.
Our cosy coffee shop has recently been refurbished and our trained barista Chloe is now able to offer a delicious range of authentic coffees thanks to our brand new, shiny Gaggia Coffee Machine. The Coffee Shop is situated in the heart of the Pepenbury site and you can enjoy refreshments inside or eat alfresco in the courtyard when the weather permits. There is also a picnic area with beautiful countryside views.
As wells as cappuccinos, lattes and espressos, we also serve a variety of teas, hot chocolate, soft drinks and a delicious selection of sandwiches, paninis, cream teas, daily specials, cakes and pastries. We also sell apple juice from our own orchards which is grown free of pesticides and other nasties. You can see a menu below.
Some of the people we support work in the cafe under the guidance of a manager and City & Guilds trainer. This helps people with a learning disability gain skills for independent living - please be patient if they take a little longer to serve you.
Next to the cafe is an enclosed play area for the kids and from our picnic benches you can see stunning views across the High Weald and the outdoor gym. If you follow the path across the fields to our beautiful bluebell woods (now accessible to buggies and wheelchairs) you will find an adventure trail. Information on the woodlands and a map are available from the coffee shop. Kids packs are also on sale for £1 to keep the children busy while you enjoy a coffee or cup of tea.
The Coffee Shop is open from 10am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday.
Dogs are welcome in the outside area and water bowls are provided. However, some of our residents are very nervous around dogs and so please keep them on a lead in this area at all times and move your dog away if it appears to be causing distress. Please also be aware that we have animals, including chickens and rabbits, so please keep your dog under control at all times.
