Facilities - Wychwood

Wychwood is managed by Larkfield Hall Limited which is a Private Company, Limited by Guarantee (Reg. No. 536993) and a  Registered Charity (No.307894).

Who Are We?

Wychwood is a Respite Unit providing a service for adults who have a  learning disability.

The Respite service has been developed so that the users, carers and care management services are fully involved in the planning and delivery of the  services.

We have a hard-working team of five staff (male and female) who work a roster system also covering sleep-in. We do not provide day care services Monday – Friday.

Where are we?

Wychwood is a two-storey house which has a large car park to the front of the building ensuring the house is set back from the main A26 in Southborough.

We are within a short walking distance of Southborough and its vast range of amenities.

A short drive brings you into Tunbridge Wells town centre.

The Unit is the same size as an average five-bedroom house with a quiet secluded garden. Upstairs we have four bedrooms (three used by service users, one by a member of staff) with shared bathroom and toilet facilities. On the ground floor we have a kitchen, w/c, lounge/dining area and a bedroom with an en-suite which is suitable for those service users with limited mobility. Laundry facilities are located at the side of the house.

Clients continue with their normal daily placements where appropriate. During their stay with us we are able to provide transport in our local area only, and any further   transport requirements are arranged through care management.

Our Aim

Our aims are to meet the individual’s needs, ability and interests, to improve and maintain their social skills, to encourage participation in planning events and activities of the Respite Unit and to increase social activities. We aim to promote self-worth, self-esteem, motivation, enhance daily living and personal care skills.
