1-1 Support Worker (Briars House)

Are you calm, friendly, caring and able to help someone control their anxiety?
Do you enjoy baking, arts and crafts and reading stories?
If so, come and join our team in Briars in Pembury near Tunbridge Wells, supporting adults with learning disabilities, dementia and complex needs to live full and rewarding lives.
The people we support enjoying doing fun activities such as horse riding, bowling and trips to the cinema. You’ll support them with their day to day activities such as shopping, cooking, household chores, personal care and pursuing their hobbies. They also enjoy going on holidays and have recently been to Butlins, Exmoor and Blackpool and are booked to visit Spain later this year.
The nine individuals living in the house, some of whom are wheelchair bound, require a number of hours of support which is provided by a team working different shifts throughout the week. Some sleep in’s will be required.
The successful candidate will:
• Have experience of working with adults with a learning disability or be keen to learn
• Be a team player but also be able to use their own initiative
• Ideally have experience of working with adults with challenging behaviour and / or dementia
• Be flexible
• Ideally have some knowledge of Autism
